Pedagogical Stuff

In the classroom, I aim to have a high degree of interactivity. During my pedagogical training, I experimented with several methods to realize this in large classrooms, i.e, in the order of one hundred students. This includes on-line questionnaires but also methods to foster students to ask questions in the classroom. This work has led to some presentations etc. which I list here.

Popular Science

Dissiminating our research to the wider audience is essential for us as a research group. This includes presenations to the general public, demos, and articles in newspapers and magazines.

  • "What is Artifical Intelligence?", invited dinner talk at the Kieler Salon, March 2020
  • "What is Artifical Intelligence?", invited keynote at the The Bay Areas Workshop, November 2019
  • "Night of the Profs": Fear of Artificial intelligence (Angst vor Künslticher Intelligenz). With Agnes Koschmider and Reinhard Koch, I gave a popular science presentation about the fear of artificial intelligence in our society, Nov. 2019. We had more then 750 people attending.
  • NDR TV: Secruity in the Internet of Things, January, 2019.
  • Since creating the CaroloCup project course in 2012, the results of my students were featured in popular science such as TEDx Gothenburg, TV, and print media, and my students and I presented the autonomous, scaled cars to the public:
